 Summary
U.S. Marshall, Conor Gallagher, has been suspended from active duty due to his drug addiction. Now, he's been given a second chance.
Assigned as protective detail to Federal Judge Faith Mattis, his task seems easy... until he meets the Judge, who is adamantly opposed to a bodyguard, despite several attempts on her life.
Gallagher's life gets even more complicated when Justice Mattis' current case regarding the military takes on a sinister note with the death of her star witness.
Mattis is undeterred and continues her investigation, putting her life, and Conor's in danger.
Despite the somewhat rocky beginning, a strong attraction and mutual respect for each other develops, and Faith and Conor realize that they must work together to prevent the worst terrorist attack the United States has ever seen.

As the youngest justice on the Federal Bench, Faith Mattis is competent, independent and quite stubborn... this stubbornness gets her into trouble more than once.
She has a strong sense of justice and will stop at nothing to uncover the truth. Although skeptical about Gallagher in the beginning, she soon learns to rely on him and draws him into her investigation of the military.
As they work together to uncover the truth, she falls in love with him, and uses her influence as a judge to aide him in the fight to regain joint custody of his daughter.
Lena Olin on her character: "She's so on the target and she's very course driven... She will not let get anything in her way, but at the same time I find that she is so unaware of who she is. She really can't see how she affects people around her."
